An international luxury hospitality group is seeking an Assistant Director of People and Culture to join its team in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. This role involves leading the People and Culture strategy, overseeing day-to-day operations, and managing recruitment and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of HR leadership experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a genuine passion for luxury hospitality. Formación

Role Overview

Be a part of something truly special! Join the dream team of Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol as Assistant Director of People and Culture. This expansive property includes 96 beautifully appointed guestrooms and 61 residences, centrally located in the tourist corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo atop the breathtaking Baja California Sur with amazing views of the sea where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. Amenities include three restaurants, three resort pools, an open‑air fitness center, Spa & Spa Garden, and a Clubhouse event facility.

Responsibilities

This role reports to the Director of People and Culture and will be responsible for assisting in leading the People and Culture strategy and execution and overseeing the day‑to‑day running of the People and Culture function. Duties include benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development, legal matters, employee counseling, financial management, record audits, employee experience programs, recruitment, selection, onboarding, evaluation of People and Culture initiatives, and support of Corporate People and Culture initiatives.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a People & Culture (Human Resources) leadership role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations and the People & Culture function as a strategic business partner.
  • Formal education or certification in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with all levels of the organization, from frontline employees to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and lead a team of professionals.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong follow‑up skills with the ability to drive tasks and initiatives to completion.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Genuine passion for luxury hospitality and delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
Master Your Craft
  • The Assistant Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the initiatives, activities, and staff of the People & Culture department, ensuring legal and labor compliance and implementation of the mission and talent strategy.
  • Lead and oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the People & Culture Department and collaborate with senior leadership on the implementation of the People and Culture strategy.
  • Promote positive employee relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect and fun.
  • Assist Departmental Leaders and Senior Managers with the development of specific action plans to address issues and concerns identified in employees’ feedback.
  • Oversee the administration of People and Culture programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Monitor and ensure the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, recommending best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Constantly challenge the status quo and think about how we can improve the way we do things to create an even better guest and employee experience.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Assist with and support employee events.
  • Ensure compliance with Four Seasons policy and local legislation in all aspects of the People and Culture function.
