ALTEN Mexico is currently seeking a talented and motivated Feature Team - Service Designer JR to join our team.
As a Feature Team - Service Designer JR, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop service features for software applications or systems. You will participate in the analysis and evaluation of service requirements and specifications, create service design deliverables, and work closely with software engineers and designers to implement the service features.
Support the execution of functional safety lifecycle activities under supervision.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of key documentation such as the Safety Plan, Safety Case, and audit reports.
Support the performance of Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) to identify safety functions and assign ASIL levels.
Assist in the creation and update of FMEAs and Fault Tree Analyses (FTA).
Draft, organize, and maintain technical and safety requirements.
Ensure traceability between requirements, design elements, test cases, and verification activities.
Collaborate with validation teams to ensure that test activities cover safety objectives.
Review test results (HIL and vehicle testing) from a functional safety perspective.
Act as a support member of the first-response team for incident analysis.
Apply root cause analysis methodologies to reported safety, quality, or warranty issues.
Serve as a supporting interface between engineering teams (Systems, Software, Hardware, Validation) on functional safety topics.
Participate in technical reviews and “Voice of the Customer” sessions.
Perform benchmarking analysis of competitor safety systems and functions.
Document and support the implementation of lessons learned.
Preferred Qualitifications:
1 to 3 years of experience. Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. / Engineering) in: Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Software or Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.”
Systems Thinking:
Level: Basic / Intermediate (1–3 years)
Ability to break down a complex system (such as a vehicle function) into its components and understand how they interact with each other.
Problem Analysis (FMEA & Root Cause Analysis):
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Basic knowledge of FMEA and the ability to investigate step by step to identify the real root cause of a technical failure.
Technical Documentation:
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Ability to write clear technical specifications and organize technical information in a structured manner.
Electronic Vehicle Concepts:
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Understanding of what a CAN network is, what an ECU is, and how vehicle systems communicate with each other.
Technical English (Reading & Writing):
Level: Intermediate (2–5 years)
Ability to read technical manuals and write technical emails in English clearly and effectively.
ISO 26262 Concepts (Functional Safety)
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Understanding of what HARA and ASIL are, as well as the overall objective of the ISO 26262 standard. Hands‑on experience is not required; knowledge may come from courses or self‑study.
Specialized Tools
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Exposure to or basic usage of tools such as ANSYS Medini (functional safety) or DOORS (requirements management). Not an expert level, but understands their purpose and application.
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Knowledge of the theory behind FTA, including the concept of a “top event” and the use of logical gates (AND / OR) for failure analysis.
V-Model Lifecycle (System / Software Development)
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Understanding of the basic phases of the V-model, such as design, testing, and integration, in system or software development.
Basic Programming
Level: Basic (0–2 years)
Basic knowledge of Python (for scripting purposes) or C (to understand automotive-related code).
