Transportation Solutions Software Engineer

Transportation Solutions Software Engineer with professional experience in the design/development of Transportation Solutions (at least 3 years).

The candidate will be part of a team for the design and development activities of Transportation solutions applied to different market segments (Metro, LRT, Railways). The candidate will also be part of the Research and Technology (R&T) team that handles proposal preparation and implementation of R&T co-funded projects. The candidate will join an experienced team and will cooperate to ensure final objectives and deliverables are in line with costs and time constraints.

• Participates to the specification of the functions and interfaces of systems/products to be developed, and participates to the definition of the architecture and the allocation of functions.
• Analyze, design the development of software systems to form a basis for the solution of information processing problems.
• Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements into software design and requirements.
• Development of new projects, analyzes current projects and processes, and making recommendations which yield a more cost-effective product.
• Writes, edits, test and debugs new programs for assigned projects, including necessary records and desired output.
• Document code consistently throughout the development process by listing a description of the program, special instructions, and any changes made in database tables on procedural, modular and database level.
• Responsible for adopting and utilizing tools and equipment involved in performance of essential functions of programming including measuring instruments.
• Responsible for communicating with system engineers and manufacturer's technical support staff regarding programming needs and performance.
• Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems.
• Support the preparation of R&T technical proposals answering to European and National collaborative projects calls.
• Development of R&T activities in a context of national/international consortia, by taking also the responsibility of tasks and work packages coordination to achieve project's goals.

Skills & Experiences

• Experience in digital technologies
• Experience in mathematics, statistics and relevant processing technics
• Knowledge of Autonomous Driving is a benefit
• Knowledge Visual tracking, tracking algorithms
• Knowledge Image and video processing
• Knowledge Embedded software design and development
• Experience in Agile approach for product development
• Ability to take a problem algorithm, develop appropriate source code and create relative applications
• Experience in multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux)
• Strong capability to work with local and international software development teams

Tools

• System Engineering discipline, processes and CMMI principles
• Knowledge of MatLab tool
• Knowledge of Python and/or C/C++ programming languages
• Knowledge Qt Framework
• Knowledge of Requirements Management tools (DOORS)
• A good knowledge of English language is mandatory
