Overview

TRAVEL DESIGN & BOOKINGS ASSISTANT

APPRENDISTATO CONTRACT

Our ideal candidate is a person who has completed a Travel Design & Bookings & Operations course or has already had a similar experience working with a tour operator / travel agency or DMC. You will primarily be working on Italy-based customised itineraries for private clients however you will also be working on the UK & Ireland, Spain & Portugal, France & Greece at various stages.

This position is fully remote & you will be working from home.

Job Description

This role will see you work in Travel Design and Bookings & Operations. Note: you will not do these roles concurrently, rather you will do one or the other for a period of time according to seasonality & business needs.

Responsibilities

As a Travel Designer you will be responsible for designing accurate, curated itineraries for clients and be actively involved in the sales process including communicating with the client via email and telephone. You will have a sales budget which you will need to achieve.

As Bookings & Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for all aspects of bookings as well as maintaining the client relationship from the time their booking is confirmed through when they depart. You will also manage supplier relationships.

Key Tasks
  • As a Travel Designer you are responsible for the creation of accurate, thoughtful itineraries, cultivating client relationships and achieving your sales targets.
  • As a Bookings & Operations assistant you will manage client relationships from booking to departure. This includes: dealing with emergencies, checking that clients have everything before their arrival, communicating with clients during their tours to provide reconfirmation and last needed information, booking any type of service (transfers, tickets, hotels, activities, guides etc.) and reconfirming with suppliers and hotels prior to tour commencement, following up supplier invoices & liaising with the accounts department, itinerary checks: timings / meeting points / contact details for various services entered into our itinerary system & ensuring clients have been informed and double checked with suppliers.

  • You have an almost maniacal attention to detail, and the ability to manage in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • You’re not afraid to pick up the phone and speak to clients & suppliers.
  • You love the sales process and excel in understanding client needs and closing the business.
  • You have a C1 level of written & spoken English.
  • You have a C1 / 2 level of written & spoken Italian.
  • You work well in a team environment but are able to work independently & make quick, smart decisions to resolve problems.
  • You work very well under pressure and have the ability to multi-task and prioritise your workload.
  • You are not afraid to ask questions and come up with new ideas. At Luxe we love initiative!

Contract: apprendistato professionalizzante CCNL Turismo (to be eligible for this type of contract you need to be under 30 years of age according to Italian employment law) or 30 and over and currently receiving NASPI unemployment benefits.
