Specialist | Full-Time | Engineering

Responsibilities

As a Tooling Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in defining the Development, requirements and specifications for tools used in the Logistic & Handling process at the Blades factories. If you do not have a deep knowledge within composite materials, you will have a high motivation to get it. You will prioritize the tools essential for the latest Logistic and Handling technologies to maintain efficiency and contribute positively to overall business performance; Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).

  • Design and optimize tools for the Logistic & Handling of Blades components, material and whole Blades.
  • Tool development
  • Tooling requirements and specifications
  • Tool industrialization and standardization
  • Support supplier management
  • Tool Delivery (TPM)
  • Service and maintenance strategy including EAM
  • Tool optimization including tools in use today
  • Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility
  • Use digital tools like data analytics to improve performance and make data-driven decisions
  • Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams
  • Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and ensure final product quality

Education

  • Bachelor Mechanical engineering or alike
  • GB Lean

Experience

  • About 8 years of experience in similar roles as described above

  • Implement optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes with use of the toolbox mentioned above

Essential skills

  • Capturing functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders and design for Manufacturability & Maintainability
  • Able to develop and/or specify the functions of tools for Handling internal material, blade parts and whole blades
  • Deep understanding of how transport or storage equipment shall be designed so that it does not damage the material, blade parts or the blades
  • Designing or specifying equipment that meets CE marking, local safety regulations, sustainability & Energy Efficiency
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and systematic problem-solving within Handling & Logistic
  • Understanding of how the Logistic & Handling tools can be automated for the benefit of product quality and efficiency
  • You are interested in spending time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems within Logistic tools
  • Experience in root-cause analysis and systematic problem-solving in production environments
  • Having composite materials knowledge, understanding of fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and other materials used in production of blades
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Use of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams to identify and solve production issues
  • You can be an engaged part of cross-functional product development projects
  • You are self-motivated; result-oriented and possess great organizational discipline
  • You enjoy working with others in a large organization and can build an intensive network across cultures and time zones
  • You are customer-oriented and can understand the complete business value chain from a customer perspective
