A leading biotechnology company is seeking an experienced Therapeutic Area Manager for Oncology in Italy. This field-based position involves identifying key prescriber groups, working with Market Access, and implementing disease awareness campaigns. The ideal candidate must have KAM experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a degree in Life Sciences, and knowledge of Solid Tumour Oncology, particularly Breast Cancer. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards pricing are essential.

The Opportunity

Menarini Stemline is searching for an experienced Key Account Manager from the biotech space who thrives on high-level scientific exchange and the sense of reward achieved from bringing first-in-class treatments to patients and the impact this has on their and their families’ lives.

This is a role with an extremely high level of autonomy, visibility, and the unique chance to influence how Menarini Stemline is positioned in Italy.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies and defines key local prescriber groups relevant to Menarini Stemline's in-label products (segmentation / targeting), establishes and maintains professional relationships with these (potential) prescribers.
  • Work with Market Access and external stakeholders such as Hospital Pharmacists to ensure quick access to the relevant centres.
  • Takes initiative and works hand in hand with Medical Affairs in implementing disease awareness campaigns within the region in accordance with the respective Stemline disease plans.
  • Provides all relevant information related to Stemline products necessary to ensure their most effective and safe usage in the right patients according to clinical data, label and prescribing information.
  • Closely interacts with local MSLs to plan and implement the most effective product support measures ensuring correct product handling and application by the prescribing site.
  • Develops and implements appropriate measures within the agreed strategic objectives to drive in-label usage of Menarini Stemline's approved products within the right patient group as per respective label and prescribing information (account action plans).
  • Regularly monitors regional performance with respect to actual versus targeted volume and sales, takes initiative and derives necessary changes in the approach within the region down to the centre level.
  • Upon request, provides support to prescribers and centres in any ordering and reimbursement aspects related to Menarini Stemline products.
  • Ensures full compliance in all customer engagement efforts according to Menarini Stemline's SOPs as well as local laws and regulations.
Background & Experience
  • Must be an experienced KAM, with proven experience in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry working in a field-based Sales (KAM) role.
  • Education in Life Sciences at the Academic level.
  • Previous experience working in the area of Solid Tumour Oncology and ideally within Breast Cancer.
  • Proven interest / expertise in scientific and clinical aspects paired with an entrepreneurial attitude and a tenacious ambition for commercial success.
  • Outspoken and positive attitude in benefit / price aspects of innovative pharmaceutical products.
  • Must have a basic understanding of local reimbursement mechanisms and a willingness to engage with and support centres in any centre related budget & reimbursement aspects.
  • Strong intellectual and communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, hands-on and acting independently.
  • The role will be 100% field-based with large territories, requiring a high level of travel and mobility.

Italian (business fluent), English (medium-high level).
