A NATO educational institution in Rome seeks a professional with expertise in international security to develop course materials and deliver lectures. In view of the nature and of the urgency of the temporary positions we are looking to fill, it is important for candidates to be available for temporary employment on short notice. In practice, this implies either being in possession of valid NATO security clearance at the time of application, or having been in possession of such a clearance with the possibility to reactivate it swiftly. Please note that only applicants with a valid NATO security clearance will be considered for selective assessments.
The Curriculum Planning Branch (CPB) is responsible to the Director APPED (DAPPE) for the development of curriculum for all courses, for the preparation of course reading material, and the management of lectures and their presentations.
The Branch is also responsible for planning, organization, management and conducting of study periods, including the academic preparation of Field Studies, within primarily the Senior Course and the NATO Regional Cooperation Course (NRCC) or other educational activities as directed.
The Incumbent develops and maintains expertise in security issues relevant to NATO including a special focus on partnerships including MD/ICI areas of interest. In this expert function, s/he designs, prepares and executes Study Periods and/or Short Courses and related activities, which include the following tasks:
