We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer Specialist to join our Billing team in Portugal!

Our platform supports the entire Wellhub business and handles millions of transactions for users and companies around the world. We work closely with cross-functional teams and payment service providers to ensure optimal checkout conversion rates and efficient account management.

To maintain consistency across multiple areas and services, we are developing a new architecture and set of systems.

YOUR IMPACT

• You will research and execute strategic projects with your team, influencing B2B and B2C checkout conversion globally, by creating new integrations for tax authorities and improving existing ones.
• You will implement and deliver solutions working with a cross-functional team, under technical leadership.
• You will develop leadership skills by working closely with senior engineers and helping them accelerate their learning curve. You will also enhance your engineering skills by tackling scalability issues, system architecture, and code quality assurance.
• You will develop critical and challenging services in our ecosystem, aiming for long-term, sustainable solutions.
• You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience.
• You will build integrations with third-party APIs and tools.

Main requirements

• Knowledge of Software Architecture
• Mindset for software quality and test automation
• Experience with Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s)
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or others
• Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
• Prior experience as a backend engineer and advanced English skills are mandatory. We encourage applicants who may not meet all criteria but are eager to learn and grow.
