A leading technology company in Italy is seeking a Software Engineer for Microcontroller Tool Development. You will design and maintain IDE plugins using Java, TypeScript, and Rust while providing technical support to stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a degree in Computer Science or a similar field, along with experience in software engineering and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. Fluency in English is mandatory. This role offers a dynamic work environment focused on collaboration and innovation.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

• Design, develop, and maintain Eclipse IDE Plugins (Java) and Visual Studio Code/Theia Extensions in TypeScript and Rust
• Contribute to build infrastructure including GitLab, CI/CD, and client/server apps
• Provide technical support to stakeholders to enable effective tool usage and resolve issues

Your Profile

Qualifications And Skills To Help You Succeed

You are a proactive, detail-oriented team player with a strong analytical mindset, able to solve problems quickly, collaborate across teams, and communicate clearly with both technical and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar field of studies
• Relevant working experience as a Software Engineer, ideally designing and maintaining developer tools (Eclipse/Visual Studio Code/Theia extensions) using TypeScript, Rust and Java
• Experience in Java, TypeScript, Rust, and object-oriented programming skills
• Good knowledge of software design and architectural patterns - ISO/OSI architecture, microservices, UML, SysML would be a plus, but not mandatory
• Familiarity with version control (git) and code management (Bitbucket/GitLab)
• Experience with Eclipse IDE, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins/GitLab/GitHub), as well as embedded software development in C and project management tools (Jira/GitLab/GitHub) would be a plus, but not mandatory
• Fluency in English (mandatory)
