A leading engineering firm is seeking a SER System Engineering Specialist to join their Tissue Converting Services Engineering Team in Lucca, Italy. This role involves providing system engineering expertise to ensure successful project completion, developing procedures to enhance quality and productivity, and managing subcontracted tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Automation Electronic Engineering and have at least 5 years of experience in software and electrical design within an automation context. Fluency in Italian and English is required, along with a willingness to travel.

Are you ready for the next step in your career

Join us as a SER System Engineering Specialist in our Tissue Converting Services Engineering Team based in Lucca Italy.

In this role you will provide system engineering expertise to support design and project completion.

You will develop and implement engineering procedures to ensure quality and productivity, analyze technical specifications and blueprints, and actively contribute as a member of the design and production teams to achieve delivery targets.

You will also manage subcontracted work when needed, ensure compliance with quality standards, identify risks and implement solutions.

Additionally you will share your knowledge by coaching and training within your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

Design and implement hardware and software upgrades for Tissue machinery, including creating system architecture.

Verify align and program technological updates, performing internal tests for automation and managing any issues during assembly and testing.

Develop and report new upgrades and revamping projects, ensuring feasibility of customer requests and identifying standard improvements.

Monitor and indicate project risks related to technical challenges, material procurement or special requirements.

Share detailed reports on completed upgrades and collaborate with the team to ensure continuous improvement.

Expectations

Degree in Automation Electronic Engineering or similar.

Minimum 5 years experience in Software & Electrical Design within an automation company and strong technical background in industrial automation.

Knowledge of PLC and HMI (Siemens STEP 7 TIA Portal Rockwell).

Knowledge of Pilz Profinet Profibus and wiring diagrams.

Fluent in Italian and English (spoken and written).

Availability and willingness to travel.
