Senior Strategic Sales Manager Joint Replacement Southern Europe

Manage and coordinate divisional sales efforts with Enterprise Account customers and divisional strategic customers for the Joint Replacement division of Stryker.

What You Will Do

As part of the divisional sales leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive Enterprise Account strategy, including GPOs, Private Groups, and other strategic customers; developing analytical tools, providing training and support; and representing Stryker to internal stakeholders, driving the brand and value proposition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with sales team to foster relationships with GPO’s, Enterprise and divisional strategic accounts.
  • Partner with sales team on strategy for country/region programs and agreements.
  • Integrate the Mako and Enabling Technologies strategy into the regional plans to complement the JR strategy.
  • Communicate effectively and often with internal and external stakeholders including sales leaders, Enterprise Accounts, FLEX, Marketing, Legal, ProCare and Finance.
  • Work with sales team to identify/assess business opportunities and to drive program and account performance.
  • Partner with COE Tenders, Contracts & Pricing to develop analytical tools to provide more sophisticated customer data for targeting and tracking.
  • Partner with Government, Private Group and GPO Enterprise Accounts to communicate the divisional strategy for growth and preservation of business.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain effective internal and external business relationships; ensure key contacts are maintained throughout the sales process and post-sale activities.
  • Work with cross-divisional branches to drive collaboration and improve return on investment for Stryker.
  • Support cross-divisional leaders and managers on business opportunities.
  • Gather market data and provide industry analyses as necessary.
  • Continuously assess relevant markets to identify business opportunities, as well as appropriate products and services.
  • Provide timely, informative data that enables management to make effective pricing and programming decisions.
  • Develop and implement summary and exception reports to validate program performance and present results of programs to management.
  • Partner with Marketing to identify and develop custom solutions for Enterprise accounts and to ensure synchronicity in executing marketing strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and divisional leaders to develop a profitable strategy that effectively integrates operational and management requirements.
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to identify price capture opportunities and create the strategy to execute upon.
  • Identify opportunities to maximize business by converting various GPO/Private Group/Enterprise Account agreements.
  • Must be capable of working with executive level leaders internally and externally to grow relationships, identify opportunities and maximize agreements in accounts.
  • Recommend participation in industrial, scientific, and other types of exhibitions and may develop direct mail campaigns and programs in collaboration with the Medical Education team.
  • Collaborate with Sales Training team and participate in the sales and/or marketing training of others.
  • Act as the point of contact for Enterprise Account RFP’s.
  • Strategize with Enterprise Account Management team and cross divisional partners on bulk buys for key customers.
  • Monitor and maximize government funding opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10+ years of overall experience.
  • 3+ years high level negotiation sales experience (C‑suite, GPO, etc.) with a proven track record in managing strategic commercial projects and delivering measurable business value.
  • Direct experience in Medical Devices field.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  • Strong expertise in commercial strategy, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Fluency in English and Italian (Spanish will be a strong plus).
  • Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills, particularly with cross‑functional and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Prior experience working with Enterprise or divisional strategic accounts.
Territory & Travel
  • Territory: Southern Europe.
  • Travel: Up to 60%.
  • Role Type: Field‑based.
  • Base Location: Milan area preferred (within approximately one hour’s drive from the city); Rome alternatively. Any major city in Spain may be considered if the candidate has strong Italian language skills and an existing professional network.
