The Electrical Engineer shall support the Electrical Lead Engineer in electrical engineering and design related activities pertaining to the project, with defined responsibilities for specific equipment and materials packages.

It is the intention that the position will continue through the EPCI phase with a focus on detailed design and fabrication engineering, equipment and materials procurement, followed by a transition to onshore fabrication and functional testing and offshore HUC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the oversight and verification of electrical engineering and design activities undertaken by EPCI contractor
  • Ensure a high attention to safety and health as an integrated part of the project EPCI phase.
  • Ensure that Contractor’s work is performed according to project objectives, selected standards, and contract requirements, with a focus on functionality and SHE. Intervene as necessary to correct any issues. Ensure all
  • Interfaces and cross discipline coordination are being dealt with and captured in the Contractor’s electrical engineering work, including 3D model development and coordination.
  • Review the requisitions for equipment and materials prepared by Contractor before they are issued to the market and ensure they are fit for purpose and incorporate requirements.
  • Review of bids for equipment and materials and provide input to the technical recommendation for award.
  • Review of Contractor’s greenfield electrical engineering and design deliverables.
  • Support and provide timely responses to Technical Queries originating from Contractor.
  • Support and provide timely responses to Concession & Deviation Permits originating from Contractor.
  • Proactively participate in design reviews and verification initiatives. Ensure relevant open actions are dealt with and implemented followed by formal close out process.
  • Monitor the verification of the EXECUTE design by the IVB and ensure their comments are addressed appropriately by the Contractor.
  • Provide input to progress reporting, project communication and presentations.
  • Provide support and assistance on ad hoc tasks.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 8+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas engineering activities, either with another production operator, or contractor/supplier to the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience as Electrical Engineer or similar role with responsibility for overseeing engineering activities and interfacing with electrical equipment suppliers.
  • Experience with EPCI contracts.
  • Experience with engineering methodologies for offshore projects.
  • Experience with equipment / materials specification and procurement activities.
  • Experience with the specification, procurement and installation of ATEX certified electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with 3D model development and review using NavisWorks, or similar.
  • Familiarity with staged gate project execution model.
  • Proficient with MS office package. Engineering education at B.Sc level.
