Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems for our corporate entities and businesses in Italy. They will ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions, as well as oversee cost and general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, budgets, and external reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- General Ledger - ensure timely and accurate financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual) along with bank, intercompany, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable - process invoices and payments promptly; handle all A/P issues and related local government reporting.
- Payroll - process payroll accurately and on time; ensure compliance of timekeeping and scheduling systems; collaborate with HR on payroll policies.
- Accounts Receivable - ensure timely billing, maintain reconciled accounts, and current aging reports.
- Inventory - research discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Budgets - prepare annual budgets and revised forecasts; explain variances to management upon request.
- External Reporting - coordinate with external accounting, tax, and audit firms to meet deadlines.
- Identify and develop key staff within the finance organization.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate operations between departments.
- Coach and document employee performance; maintain high workforce quality.
- Present a professional image to employees, guests, clients, owners, and investors.
- Participate in client functions and events to promote business.
- Develop relationships within the community; spearhead philanthropic initiatives.
- Support team activities to exceed guest expectations.
- Maintain low staff turnover and high morale.

- Engage in programs to support environmental sustainability.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Willingness and ability to travel to various locations in Europe or the US.
- Expert knowledge of local laws, taxes, licenses, and Italian finance and accounting practices.
- Ability to build effective relationships across all management levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Lawson knowledge preferred.
Language Skills
- Fluency in English required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Ability to present complex information clearly.
