Job Objective

The Project Manager at Hitachi Rail RCS Italia is responsible for ensuring the achievement of all technical, operational, and financial objectives (including revenue and AGM), within the defined schedule and budget, and in line with the expected quality standards. The role involves leading project execution in close coordination with all relevant company functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage complex projects in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments, applying appropriate project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Effectively coordinate the project team and engage with various stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate activities and resources related to Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems, in collaboration with internal teams and functions, to meet contractual milestones.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction in terms of quality and timeliness, while maintaining project profitability and driving continuous improvement.
  • Oversee and manage the contractual terms and conditions of the project.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team to prepare technical documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate the production and integration of AFC systems, working closely with the supply chain, engineering teams, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project progress against the established timeline.
  • Conduct monthly profitability reviews and implement corrective actions to maximize project margins.
  • Lead and participate in system validation and verification activities, both in factory and on-site, to secure customer approval and system commissioning.
  • Support the System Engineer and Customer Service during commissioning, maintenance, and warranty phases.
  • Represent the company and the project in all interactions with the customer.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fluency in English and italian are required;
  • 3-5 years of experience in an engineering company in a similar role.
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, negotiation, planning, and organizational skills, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
