The Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine Associates is an AASM-accredited center. We are expanding our team and seeking a Polysomnographic Technologist or Technician to join us in delivering high-quality, state-of-the-art sleep care. What You’ll Do

Every night, you’ll make a difference in someone’s tomorrow. Your role will include:

  • Reviewing each patient’s history and verifying the medical order.
  • Confirming patient identity, collecting necessary documents, and obtaining consent for the study.
  • Gathering and integrating patient information to meet individual needs, considering physical, mental, and emotional status as well as relevant medical and social history.
  • Following established sleep center protocols or physician orders.
  • Explaining procedures and orienting patients for in-center testing, providing age-appropriate education.
  • Selecting and calibrating equipment to ensure accurate testing and making adjustments as needed.
  • Applying electrodes and sensors according to protocol or recognized standards.
  • Performing diagnostic polysomnography, CPAP/bi-level/ASV/VAPS titration studies and possibly daytime MSLT/MWTs.
  • Providing PAP interface fitting and desensitization.
  • Scoring sleep studies in accordance with AASM standards.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment to meet infection control requirements.

    What You Bring

    We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, adaptable, and enthusiastic to learn.

    • Technologists: RPSGT certification or RRT-SDS credential required.
    • Technicians: Enrollment in a polysomnographic technology program OR 6+ months experience as a sleep trainee with A-STEP completion and documented competencies.
    • Minimum 1 year of experience and PSG scoring proficiency preferred.
    • Pediatric experience is a plus.
    • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required.
    • Strong clinical skills with excellent communication, customer service, and organizational capabilities.

    About Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine Associates For over years, Chest Medicine Associates has been serving patients in the Greater Portland area and from throughout Maine and southern New Hampshire. Chest Medicine Associates is a medical practice devoted to specialty care in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Our sleep center performs take-home sleep apnea tests for qualified patients. In addition, we also perform sleep studies, or polysomnograms, in our sleep lab at the Maine Sleep Center at Chest Medicine.
