Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for a committed and experienced Pastry Junior Sous Chef to join our team. Bring your passion for food and culinary skills including strong knowledge in viennoiserie to work closely with a team of professionals who encourage your growth. You will maintain high culinary standards working with seasonal menus and unique presentations while learning every day.

Your duties include preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, portioning and storing ingredients, and using baking tools safely. You will ensure food safety and hygiene compliance, monitor appliance and food temperatures, and maintain a clean kitchen by following sanitation procedures.

You will follow company safety and security policies, report incidents, and complete training. Professional appearance and confidentiality are required. Clear communication and teamwork are essential to support common goals.

Key Accountabilities
  • Prepare pastries and desserts for outlets
  • Review production sheets to plan daily baking tasks
  • Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools / equipment / appliances to prepare baked foods
  • Follow food safety and personal hygiene procedures
  • Monitor and report appliance and food temperatures to management
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
  • Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others
Profile
  • Previous experience working as a Junior Sous Chef is preferable
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Build strong relationships with producers and ensure quality sourced produce
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Proactive and the willingness to take initiative and make sound business decisions
  • Driven, creative, and a genuine passion for Pastry and a strong customer service focus
  • Current knowledge of culinary trends and industry best practices – growth mindset
