Commis de Rang – Part‑Time (Season 2026) – Taormina

About the Role

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service and attention to our guests. As a Commis de Rang you will prepare the dining venues and equipment, food pass and service area of your assigned station in the restaurant, ensuring guests receive courteous, engaging, prompt and efficient service. You will assist the Chef de Rang in the serving of food, attend guest needs and requests, be highly visible in the operation, provide an expertly service experience, clear and reset tables according to standards and respect the hygiene standards applied in the restaurant as per HACCP system. You will communicate guest orders to the Chef de Rang, serve food items and beverages, take care of any special requests, anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, assist with restaurant inventory, take care of the breakdown, cleaning and setting‑up of tables and work stations.

What You Will Do
  • Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to guests.
  • Communicate guest orders, including any special needs or requests, to the kitchen using the hotel’s point‑of‑sales system; coordinate food timings; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
  • Breakdown, clean and set‑up tables, buffets, and food stations.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors.
What You Bring
  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of food service or related work; experience in luxury hotels and/or stand‑alone fine dining restaurants or restaurant groups, preferably in the same position. International experience would represent an asset.
  • Ability to carry and balance a tray.
  • Attention to detail, strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, ability to multitask with excellent organizational skills, team player, and bring personal touch and energy to guest experiences.

  • Candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays.
