Job Title

Mechanical Field Service Engineer – Centrifugal / Reciprocating Compressor.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction for site activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Oversee, overhaul, troubleshoot, and commission Centrifugal / Reciprocating Compressor products at customer sites.
  • Lead in customer and contractor meetings to share and update action plans and to advise on technical solutions.
  • Ensure internal training, compliance, and quality documentation is updated, followed, and completed according to company standards.
  • Lead installation, maintenance, and repair of Centrifugal/Reciprocating Compressors—including borescope inspections, blade work, combustion/hot section replacements, engine swaps, and other maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a high standard of HSE compliance and lead activities, people, and safety.
Requirements
  • Good working knowledge of installation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
  • Experience working in a mechanical role in an energy or oil and gas environment (or similar).
  • Impressive customer service orientation and experience leading customers through tough decisions.
  • Strong communication skills: able to convey complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Deep awareness of Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance and potential risks.
  • Self‑motivated, able to make key decisions and innovate solutions.
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English.
  • EU passport / European work permit and proficiency in Italian.
  • Ready to travel significantly (up to 70%) without geographical restriction, including offshore facilities.
Flexible Work Arrangements
  • Travel to and work on customer sites in line with customer requirements.
  • Duration of work at site and hours of work at the site will align with customer requirements.
  • Between work assignments, have free time in line with Baker Hughes working time guidelines and fatigue management provisions.
