A leading cruise line is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to define and govern the architecture of their Reservations Systems. The Senior Solution Architect is responsible for defining and governing the architecture of MSC's Reservations Systems, the company’s most strategic platform. The role ensures technological excellence, modernization, and long-term resilience while enabling business growth and safeguarding continuity. Acting as a strategic interface between business priorities and technical solutions, this position provides direction and oversight across internal teams and external partners. This role reports directly to the Deputy Head - Demand and Delivery Senior Manager, Reservations System.

Responsibilities
  • Define the target architecture and ensure its alignment with MSC's business and digital transformation strategy.
  • Establish architectural standards, frameworks, and design principles for the Reservations Systems.
  • Provide direction and guidance to technology partners, ensuring that system design and delivery are consistent with MSC's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into sustainable system solutions.
  • Lead modernization initiatives, driving the adoption of AI, automation, microservices, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Safeguard continuity and system resilience through architectural decisions that support scalability and zero-outage principles.
  • Develop internal architectural competencies, fostering knowledge retention and reducing dependencies on external providers.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong background in complex transactional platforms (reservations, travel, transportation, or equivalent industries).
  • Proven ability to direct multi-vendor technology landscapes and ensure alignment with architectural frameworks.
  • Solid expertise in Agile SAFe and scaled delivery models.
  • Strong technical foundation with hands-on knowledge of Spring, J2EE, Angular, Oracle, ElasticSearch (logging and monitoring), and Cache with Couchbase.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage with both technical and business leaders.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written); Italian is a preference.
