Overview

For an italian company, part of an international Group, leader in marine leisure boats components, we’re looking for a MANAGING DIRECTOR to lead a fast-growing leisure marine company into its next stage of success. If you’re passionate about boating, innovation, and scaling businesses, this role is your chance to make waves in the leisure marine industry. You’ll focus on growing the company’s market presence, building a high-performing team, and ensuring smooth operations to deliver exceptional marine products and services to clients worldwide.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Steer the Strategy: Define and drive the company’s vision and growth plan, with a focus on the leisure marine market (yachts and motorboats).
• Build the Business: Expand the company’s reach into key markets such as Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific by forming partnerships with yacht builders and distributors.
• Lead Operations: Streamline production, logistics, and after-sales service to ensure high-quality products and a seamless customer experience.
• Develop the Team: Inspire and mentor a growing team of engineers, sales professionals, and operational staff. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture aligned with the company’s goals.
• Represent the Brand: Attend boat shows, industry events, and exhibitions (e.g., METSTRADE, Cannes Yachting Festival) to promote the brand and build relationships with key stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 10+ years in leadership roles within the leisure marine industry, such as yacht manufacturing, marine equipment trading, or marine services. A proven track record of scaling a business with strong go-to market building and sales attitude are essential.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the leisure boating market, including customer and technology trends, distribution channels, and key players in the industry.
• Skills: Strong business development, team leadership, financial management (budgeting, P&L), and expertise with operational upscaling and optimization.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. A degree in Business can be considered if strong engineering affinity can be demonstrated.
• Passion for Leisure Marine: A personal connection with boating, water sports, or the yachting lifestyle is highly valued.
