Maintenance Manager
Scandicci, Italy

Under the general direction of the Site SC&Operations Manager, provides leadership for the Maintenance function within a high-performance team environment. Oversees the daily management of the function and drives improvement activities through the development of people and processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES: Utilizes TPM tools to build problem solving methodologies to implement continually improve processes within the function. Demonstrates a sense of urgency and tenacity to resolve problems and implement process improvements.
  • TEAM MANAGEMENT: Leads a team of technicians in a manner consistent with the core beliefs and guiding principles of McCormick's High-Performance System. Utilizes coaching and facilitation skills to manage employee relations. Provides regular performance feedback and oversees development/training plans for individuals within the team.
  • MANAGE KEY RESULT AREAS (Safety, Quality, Cost, Reliability, Customer Service, etc.): Directs and supports the daily management of the team to prioritize work and achieve goals. Creates an atmosphere of 100% compliance to operational processes and procedures.
  • COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively across all levels of the organization. Creates a vision for the team that is in alignment with the Plant and McCormick. Communicates organizational and plant objectives.
Candidate Profile
  • Relevant technical experience, preferably within the food and beverage industry
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance (P.M.) practices
  • Full supervisory responsibility for a team, ensuring motivation and professional development through effective leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, including successful completion of complex projects
  • Proven experience in facility management (including HVAC systems) and energy management
  • Solid understanding of how maintenance integrates with other operational areas
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key internal stakeholders
  • Close collaboration with Engineering and Area Supervisors
  • Fluent English (required)
  • Knowledge of ATEX regulations and management of explosive-risk areas is a strong advantage
