Position Summary
The Logistics Project Manager leads sustainment and logistics efforts for radar programs, depot operations, inventory control, and compliance with DoD regulations. This role involves directing work scope and managing a logistical team of analysts and field service representatives to ensure products and services meet contract requirements for cost, schedule, and performance. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between subcontractors and the program office in a high-visibility environment focused on lifecycle planning and long term sustainment support of radar and sensor systems.
The selected candidate will be a 1099 consultant with a 1-year contract.
Candidates local to Syracuse, NY are preferred; all qualified remote candidates will be considered.
Travel is anticipated to ~30%
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead the design, setup, and operationalization of a depot, while working with manufacturing to develop SOPs for inventory control, tool calibration, and logistics workflows.
- Direct the logistical teams in repair depot, training, technical documentation, and obsolescence management to deliver sustainment products per contract specifications.
- Assist in developing budgets, estimates, schedules, and baseline execution plans, while performing Earned Value Management (EVM) as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
- Monitor radar system readiness, analyze provisioning degrades, and develop logistics support plans.
- Prepare progress reports, briefings, and metrics for stakeholders, including external customers and program management.
- Train personnel on logistics processes, sustainment services, and compliance standards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics project management within defense, aerospace, or government contracting, including depot operations and inventory management.
- Strong knowledge of DoD logistics, sustainment domains (e.g., provisioning, maintenance, obsolescence), and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in tools like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project), and logistics systems (e.g., Unanet, WMS, DPAS).
- Experience with Earned Value Management.
- Excellent communication, project coordination, and customer interface skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, and cost estimating.
- Prior experience in cross-functional teams, depot operations, or performance-based logistics.
- Knowledge of export controls, ITAR compliance, and DoD supply chain initiatives.
