in Paul Wurth Italia Spa, company of SMS Group spa we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer inside our Centre of Competence Iron to work on all product phases from research and development to offer and execution stages.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Define systems and components that meet projects requirements and prepare concept and basic engineering;
• Perform initial calculations for components and plant definition;
• Perform initial calculation for rotating machine, follow-up of technical interaction with supplier;
• Produce technical specifications and BOQs for proposal and execution projects;
• Control and validate engineering of the plant;
• Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems;
• Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety;
• Technical management of projects with interaction with other technical functions;
• Prepare reports, operative and maintenance manuals.

Qualifications

• Proven working experience in industrial engineering (minimum 3-5 years);
• Working experience and knowledge of basics material handling will be considered as a plus;
• Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, materials science etc;
• Creativity and analytical skills;
• Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner;
• Basic knowledge with simulation tools. Knowledge of Ansys software is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic office tools (word, excel, etc);
• Both spoken and written English;
• Natural attitude in working in multicultural and multidisciplinary team.

The work is mainly office-based in Genova with regular visits to plants, factories, workshops or building sites. Nevertheless, travelling is frequent; Absence from home overnight and overseas work or travel will be required.
