HR Manager – People, Talent & Organizational Development

Part-time, unpaid during the early phase

  • Hybrid work model (remote and/or on-site in Milan, Doha – Qatar, or Boston)
  • Travel and meeting expenses will be reimbursed upon approval
  • An NDA must be signed

This position may evolve into HR Director or Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), depending on contribution, leadership capacity, and organizational growth.

About the Role:

We are seeking an HR Manager to design, implement, and manage the human resources framework of Institute Itech during its early‑stage development and beyond.

This role is central to shaping the company’s talent strategy, organizational structure, recruitment processes, and people culture, ensuring alignment with research excellence, innovation, and ethical standards.

The HR Manager will work directly with the CEO and leadership team and will progressively build the HR function as the organization scales.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement the overall HR strategy aligned with Institute Itech’s mission and growth plans
  • Design organizational structures, role frameworks, and reporting lines
  • Support the definition of career paths, leadership tracks, and succession planning
Recruitment & Talent Management
  • Manage recruitment for strategic roles (C‑level, managers, researchers, engineers, designers)
  • Define selection processes, evaluation criteria, and interview frameworks
  • Coordinate onboarding, integration, and probation processes
Policies, Compliance & Governance
  • Draft and manage HR policies, internal regulations, codes of conduct, and NDAs
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and HR regulations (EU / international)
  • Coordinate with legal, payroll, and external HR advisors
Performance & Culture
  • Develop performance evaluation systems, KPIs, and feedback processes
  • Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and ethical behavior
  • Support leadership in conflict management and organizational well‑being
HR Development & Scaling
  • Build HR documentation, templates, and operational processes
  • Prepare the organization for future scale (contracts, benefits, training programs)
  • Support the evolution toward a structured HR Department
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Management, or Organizational Development
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes, recruitment, and people management
  • Understanding of labor law and HR compliance (Italy or EU frameworks)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously in early‑stage and research‑driven environments
  • Fluency in English (Italian is a strong plus)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in startups, research institutions, or technology‑driven organizations
  • Familiarity with international or remote team management
  • Knowledge of performance management systems and HR analytics
  • Sensitivity to diversity, mental health, and inclusive workplace practices
  • Motivation to grow into a Director‑level or C‑level HR role
