The Group Payment Solutions (GPS) product line’s mission is to steer and oversee at Group level the strategy, the management and the development of transactional payments, cash management, Acquiring and Issuing products and services, with the goal to have competitive and cutting‑edge products, in line with market and technological trends. Within Group Payment Solutions, Issuing & Acquiring focuses on steering and supervising at Group level the strategy, the development and the management of Acquiring, Issuing and Payment Cards products (including card wallet, virtual cards and proximity payments card based) and related services considering both market and technology trends and evolution of the competitive arena. In particular you will be part of the “Card Issuing” team within “Issuing & Acquiring” structure
In this role you will:
- Collaborate to the steering and supervision of the Issuing strategy at Group Level according to its own specificities in coordination with the parallel development of the Acquiring strategy
- Support the management and development of Card Issuing products and services
- Create and analyse ad hoc Business Cases to assess new initiatives in term of profitability
- Coordinate project work streams and providing project management for key initiatives
- Conduct market intelligence on a need basis, analyse and understand recent trends, assess competitors value propositions, propose actions for further improvements also leading best practice sharing to all LEs
- Monitor the competitive situation and payment industry dynamics, identify threats and opportunities, and recommend appropriate response strategies
- Manage the relationships with Group Strategic Partners within Issuing scope
- Work on specific topic related to Card Issuing, always considering a Group perspective:
- Analyse, manage and monitor Group LEs International Card Schemes (ICSs) and Domestic Scheme fees within the framework of Long-Term Agreements (LTA) in place with payments’ networks
- Assessment of card schemes manuals, bulletins, quarterly reporting and Interchange fees charts
- Management of BIN product list to action relevant business initiatives within consumer and commercial customer base
- Leverage on dedicated dashboard to monitor Card Schemes fees based on partnership in place with external provider. In addition, perform assessment leveraging on detailed reporting available
- Deep dive the nature of Schemes Fees billed to Group LEs such as new fees, optional services penalties and mandates
- Active analyse and monitor of ICSSs, Domestic Schemes and Processing fees at Group level within the scope of Multi Year Plan to define cost optimization initiatives and savings opportunities
- Interact with ICSSs counterparts and third party providers involved in the fees billing processes
- Setup of monthly reporting processes to track Card Issuing performances with impact at P&L with a focus on costs side (e.g., Card Schemes fees)
- Adoption dashboards and intelligence tool leveraging on payment partners (e.g., Scheme tools)
- Develop on a regular basis "good practice sharing", centralize know‑how and deliver multi‑market solutions
What you'll be doing
- Specific Issuing product knowledge (debit, credit, prepaid, wallet, token, etc.)
- Ability to match different data sources and create effective reporting to support decision making
- Knowledge on main relevant Card Issuing regulations (e.g., Multilateral Interchange Fees)
- Knowledge of payment processes and logics
- Ability to deal with different counterparties and external providers
- Expertise in card payments business model (e.g., revenue model, cost side) is a plus
What you'll need to succeed
- Knowledge in Business Intelligence tool
- Degree in Economics, Finance or Engineering
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages utilized in UniCredit countries is welcome
- Solid foundation in business topics, planning, strategic methodologies and project management even in multi‑countries perspective
- Good knowledge of Payment industry, new technologies, trends and related metrics/drivers
- Clear understanding of reporting and data analysis and usage of surveys / market analysis
- Strong MS‑Office skills (Excel, Power Point, Think Cell)
- High degree of flexibility and endurance, critical thinking and decision making
- Strong teamwork capabilities and ability to work within a global structure with parallel projects in a highly collaborative manner
- Able to lead various stakeholders to execute complex projects efficiently and to think strategically but also execute operationally
- Excellent communication skills whether it is presenting in a meeting or building out a deck (for Top Management and for internal/external stakeholders)
- Strong commitment, interpersonal skills, entrepreneurial thinking to support the establishment and development of Group Payment Solutions
- Self‑motivated, can‑do attitude, problem‑solver who can work in a fast‑paced environment
- Able to remain effective under tight deadlines, manage multiple processes in parallel and manage uncertainty including the capability to manage pressure and un‑expected tasks
