Overview

A snapshot of your day: As Field Service Engineer you will be part of the Grid Enhancing Technologies Operations Team, focusing on engineering and execution activities for all portfolio elements. The role involves performing commissioning services at site, configuring and testing solutions, and producing electrical engineering deliverables such as drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities also include managing technical documentation and ensuring high‑quality outputs and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

How You’ll Make An Impact
  • Coordinate, review and prepare projects within deadlines and costs;
  • Execute FAT, SAT, and commissioning services; respond to RFIs and update “As-Built” data packages;
  • Preparation of electrical/mechanical drawings and assembly detailing with drawing software (E-Plan);
  • Develop complete installation, commissioning, and field wiring documentation;
  • Preparation of bills of materials; monitor the progress of projects through participation in meetings with customers, suppliers and field teams, performing if necessary technical visits in the field;
  • Configuration of communication protocols (IEC 61850, Modbus, IEC 60870-5104, DNP3, OPC UA); maintain and update engineering information in internal tools.
What You Bring
  • Higher education in Engineering or Technologist (preferably Electrical, Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics); or higher education in the exact area (Computer Science, Systems Analysis and Development, or related).
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering for industrial or utility projects; fresh graduates with strong technical skills may be considered.
  • Previous knowledge in automation systems, preferably SIEMENS systems (TIA Portal, SIMATIC S71200, SICAM A8000).
  • Knowledge in industrial communication networks (Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC UA); fundamentals of drawings, desirable knowledge in E-Plan; knowledge in configuration of Windows systems.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (both written and spoken); good to have German communication skills.
  • Driving License: Category B; valid passport for travel; willingness to travel on commissioning sites inside and outside US/EU.
