A reputable healthcare provider is seeking a Consultant Haematologist to join their dedicated team on the Isle of Wight. This role offers the chance to provide high-quality clinical care in haematology and blood transfusion services while enjoying the unique lifestyle of the Isle. Candidates must have a full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register in Haematology. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate a commitment to patient care and participate in teaching and governance activities.

Competenze

Job description
Job responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive clinical haematology care (inpatient, outpatient, day case).
  • Offer expert advice on haematology results and transfusion.
  • Review blood films.
  • Participate in clinical governance and share in a 1 in 4 on-call rota (with Southampton colleagues).
  • Contribute to teaching, training, research, and the ongoing development of our specialist services and blood transfusion practices.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Full registration and licence to practice with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register in Haematology (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).
  • Applicants that are UK trained must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • Applicants that are non-UK trained will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
Desirable
  • MRCPCH or evidence of equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of a special interest that complements those of other consultants in the department.
