A prestigious academic institution in Italy is seeking an Academic Manager to define and oversee academic activities and innovation. The ideal candidate has a Master's degree, at least 3 years of experience in academic management, and strong international connections in the design and fashion industry. This role includes supervising course progress, monitoring student satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with educational regulations.
Define the direction and guidelines for planning and organizing academic activities of the faculty, supervise course progress and monitor performance in terms of content effectiveness, academic action and student satisfaction (student voice and NPS) aligned with the CAA and KHDA - UAE educational validation bodies; direct and co-ordinate activities related to innovation of the academic offer and teaching methodology; contribute to tutor training; manage relationships with academic Institutions.
Strategy – Monitor trends in the Education market and reviewing/innovation of the academic offer (participation at Edu Days) and support the School Director in innovating the academic offer considering impact on UAE educational validation system requirements, developing new programmes’ proposals and improving existing ones, improving teaching methodology; work closely with the QA department to ensure compliance with the regulations requested, respect norms for syllabus accreditation and requirements of QA system (Quality Assurance); represent the school in activities and relationships with partners and national and international counterparts.
Budgeting, Forecast and Reporting – Submit requests related to academic tools; elaborate and analyse periodical reporting (monthly reports), with the scope of monitoring local performance and justify any discrepancies taking corrective action and/or making improvements. Manage the yearly budget for part time tutors, academic resources and students’ visits, projects and other activities, ensuring compliance with the assigned budget. Support the SD and career & industry manager to develop professional trainings for the industry through preparation of bespoke academic programs (i.e. for the K12 sector and for local and international brands).
People Leadership and Management – Manage own resources, their professional growth and skills development; plan and organize jobs and activities and assign new projects; actively participate in the selection process; guarantee respect of policy, code of ethics and company procedures; actively support initiatives in Succession Planning, Change Management and innovation; ensure that all academic documentation is produced correctly and constantly updated. Ensure, on annual basis, the delivery of the tutors’ performance evaluation and appraisal.
Institution & Program revalidation and validation of new programs – Support SD and QA in the preparation and submission of all the requirements for the renewal of institution and program validation and for the submission of new academic programs.
Research – Support the Head of Research in ensuring that full time faculty are delivering the agreed number of publications and encourage part time faculty and students to produce additional research, in accordance with CAA assigned KPIs.
