We are on a steep growth curve, and are looking for a Director Accounting & Tax to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in building up a world class accounting & tax team and overseeing and managing all the financial accounting operations on a multi-geography scale. You will work closely with your colleagues in the finance and business teams and be exposed to a high level of freedom and responsibility from day one. You will report directly to the Group CFO.

Responsibilities

• Financial Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliation processes.
• Develop and implement standardized accounting policies and procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial operations across international subsidiaries.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Lead the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with international accounting standards (IFRS).
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and reporting obligations in multiple international jurisdictions.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations and make necessary adjustments to financial reporting processes.
• Risk Management and Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Collaborate with the financial risk management team to identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Record, monitor and report the company’s financial derivatives.
• Audit and Taxation: Lead and coordinate external audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process; collaborate with tax experts to optimize the company's global tax strategy and compliance.
• Financial Systems and Technology: Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology solutions to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency on a global base.
• Financial Analysis and Insights: Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluations, and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS / MS degree in Accounting, Finance or similar;
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory compliance requirements;
• Proven experience (+7 years) in international accounting, with a track record of successfully managing accounting teams across multiple countries;
• Strong analytical skills, financial expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound strategic decisions are a must;
• Ability to communicate clearly with a wide variety of stakeholders, from employees to management as well as external partners;
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced international environment;
• Full working proficiency in English is required, any other European language is a plus.
