Job summary

The AWS Data Center Security Specialist is a versatile role within a fast-paced Physical Security environment, suitable for security professionals seeking growth within a well-established, inclusive team that values hard work and fun.

The DSS will review, evaluate, and prioritize requests and tickets, guiding and influencing the Contract Guard Force and other stakeholders. They will ensure local implementation of cluster strategies into security operations, cooperating with Data Center Security Managers to enhance operational security. The role is approximately 80% operational and 20% tactical, reporting to the Cluster Security Management.

Key job responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities and site security operations.
• Provide guidance and leadership to contract security personnel.
• Evaluate contract security provider performance and request corrective actions as needed.
• Foster relationships to educate data center stakeholders on false alarm reduction.
• Analyze data to extract metrics and observe improvements.
• Ensure security programs meet global security standards.
• Assist in training personnel on security policies and procedures.
• Handle escalations and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Draft reports and prepare presentations on security operations.
• Collaborate on writing and implementing security policies and procedures.
• Identify security opportunities and craft solutions to uphold security standards.
• Participate in site audits, inspections, and walk-throughs.
• Discuss and escalate issues and solutions to senior team members.
• Maintain basic knowledge of physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.
• Experience with workflow ticketing systems.
