Descrizione del lavoro
Senior Mechanical Engineer

Uniflair Spa is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to be hired on a full‑time employment contract.

The ideal candidate should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or, alternatively, a diploma in mechanical engineering.

The selected candidate will be part of an integrated project team (including mechanical, electrical, software, and technical documentation areas) and will be responsible for developing mechanical components using Solid Edge software. Projects may involve the development of new product lines (PMP), sustaining of existing product lines (PEP), or highly customised orders for specific clients (CSP). During project development, the process will start with drafting the refrigeration diagram and will be followed by the design of 3D/2D models using CAD software such as Solid Edge. The candidate will collaborate with the electrical designer to define shared aspects (e.g., electrical panel positioning, cable routing, etc.) and work closely with the entire team.

The candidate will also handle item coding and the creation/modification of machine BOMs, completing cross‑functional activities on the product portfolio, including the development of welding maps. The selected person will also participate in the upstream phase of the project, designing and developing new products and subassemblies, and validating complex designs and solutions through testing and prototype development. The adopted solutions must be tested independently and, within the specific area of expertise, with a strong sense of responsibility.

Some activities may also involve coordinating junior mechanical profiles within the project team.

Activities and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from the development phase (designing the refrigeration circuit through the development of sheet metal parts, piping, etc.) to production; specifically handling 3D modelling using Solid Edge, 2D drafting using CAD tools, and item coding using PLM and AS400 systems.
  • Maintain constant communication with the Project Team Leader discussing technical issues, costs, product performance, and any emerging criticalities.
  • Provide hands‑on support during prototype construction, along with technical instructions.
  • Interface with the Industrialisation department to implement changes following prototyping or production, tracked via JIRA or PEP systems.
  • Prepare the manufacturing specifications document (CIS) in collaboration with the Production / Factory Engineering Manager, ensuring proper documentation and updates.
  • Support production supervision, especially during the prototyping phase.
  • Interface with the technical antenna to verify anomalies and deviations in components, and with the Purchasing department to confirm the accuracy and feasibility of supplier quotations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information throughout all activities.
  • Apply and adhere to the 5S methodology.
  • Ensure that all activities meet the quality requirements established by the company and those requested by the customer.
  • Comply with PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) regulations.
  • Support the creation of technical documentation with images and relevant information.
Required Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in mechanical design of industrial machinery (preferably HVAC systems).
  • Good knowledge of refrigeration systems for air conditioning.
  • Ability to draft refrigeration diagrams in compliance with current regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably Solid Edge).
  • Highly motivated individual with strong problem‑solving skills, capable of working in a dynamic, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong analytical and synthesis abilities.
  • Strong teamwork attitude.
  • English language proficiency at B1 level.
What's in it for you?
  • Permanent contract.
  • Workplace flexibility.
  • Exciting work in an international company, with opportunities to lead and contribute to diverse collaborative projects with cross-regional teams; special training tailored to your needs and career goals.
  • Growth opportunities based on clear development paths.
  • An environment where employees have equal opportunities to reach their full potential, depending on their performance and personal aspirations.
  • Global family leave programme.
  • Meal vouchers or canteen meals.
  • Stock ownership plans.
  • Welfare programmes that can be extended to your family.
