A dynamic engineering corporation based in Rivalta di Torino seeks a Senior Commercial Counsel. The role focuses on defining and implementing commercial legal strategies, managing legal matters, and supporting contract negotiations. Ideal candidates will possess a law degree, fluency in English and Italian, and significant experience in commercial law. Based in Rivalta di Torino, as Senior Commercial Counsel you will contribute to defining and implementing, with the guidance of a more senior counsel, the commercial legal strategies for Avio Aero. Main responsibilities will include contract review and customer‑facing negotiation as well as forefront legal support on project execution, dispute management, and sourcing.
The successful candidate will manage legal and contractual matters within their area of expertise, providing strategic guidance and support to the business.
Key responsibilities include:
Commercial Transactions: Structure, draft, and negotiate domestic and international commercial and financing agreements to support business objectives.
Operational Legal Advice: Provide proactive legal counsel on contract execution, interpretation, and other operational matters.
Knowledge Sharing: Share lessons learned and best practices across the GE Aerospace legal community to foster continuous improvement.
Contract and Claim Management: Identify and address legal issues related to contracts and claims, ensuring effective risk mitigation.
Compliance Monitoring: Oversee commercial legal policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards.
Training and Development: Identify training needs and deliver targeted legal and contractual training for commercial and sourcing teams.
Industry Expertise: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant industry trends to support commercial objectives and enhance competitive differentiation.
Supplier and Customer Negotiations: Develop strategies and provide support for negotiations with suppliers and customers.
Issue Resolution: Manage legal escalations related to service delivery, quality concerns, invoicing, and payment issues.
Business Growth Initiatives: Support cost reduction and revenue growth initiatives while ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks.
Process Improvement: Drive process optimization, reduce inefficiencies, and promote discipline and accountability to enable business growth and mitigate risks.
Digital Technology: Stay abreast of EU cyber and privacy regulations, support the implementation of new technology and systems driving the continuous improvement of Avio Aero cyber, privacy and data regulatory compliance.
Law degree from a highly respected university with superior academic record.
Admitted to practice law in an EU Member State.
Solid experience in general commercial and corporate law obtained preferably in a reputable law firm.
Demonstrated organizational skills and business judgment.
Strong interpersonal skills combined with persuasive written and verbal communication abilities, along with a strong sense of decisiveness.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a complex and matrixed organization, with cross-functional teams and to simultaneously manage numerous and varied tasks.
Availability to travel for up to 20% of time.
Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
Law firm or in‑house experience in the following practice areas: commercial, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, corporate, or corporate finance.
Familiarity with GDPR and understanding the interdependencies that link cyber and privacy issues to other business imperatives.
