Job Title : Chief Executive Officer

Salary : €70,000 - €80,000 gross per annum

Location : Anywhere in Europe

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to lead a purpose-driven foundation that operates with a business-like mindset and long-term vision. While rooted in social impact, this organization is not run like a traditional NGO. We are looking for a leader with a strong corporate background, sharp financial instincts, and the ability to manage complex operations with precision and foresight. The candidate can be based anywhere in Europe with required travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to align activities with the foundation’s mission and values
• Identify and pursue growth and sustainability opportunities
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
• Oversee project planning, execution, and monitoring
• Conduct visits to remote project locations
• Manage resources for operational efficiency
• Ensure projects are financially viable and sustainable
• Prepare regular reports on project status
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Manage financial operations including budgeting and reporting
• Develop relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders
• Implement fundraising strategies
• Represent the foundation to governments, organizations, and media
• Build relationships with local communities
• Collaborate with the Founder, Board, and staff for cohesive operations

Candidate Profile

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; knowledge of Agronomy is a plus
• Extensive leadership experience in the private sector, especially in Africa
• Proven track record managing complex projects and teams
• Strategic thinking and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Operational and financial management experience
• Cultural sensitivity and understanding of Africa’s socio-political context
• Fluent in English; French proficiency is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Hands-on, proactive, motivating
• Integrity, transparency, resilience, adaptability
• Attention to detail and follow-through
• Legal right to work in the EU
