About the job

ANDRITZ is looking for a Senior Buyer for the Procurement & Expediting Department in the Hydro Division based in Schio. The responsibilities of the position include managing orders to suppliers expecially for mechanical and electro-mechanical components and supporting other departments (Quality, Project Management, Technical Department and Logistics) in our projects mainly located in Italy, Spain and Portugal. The job position will be based at our Andritz Hydro offices in Schio (VI) - Italy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish a panel of qualified suppliers for the products and services under your responsibility.
  • Prepare tenders. Draft and define the technical-commercial conditions in collaboration with other operational departments.
  • Support the Quality Department in coordinating inspections and supplier audits and ensuring prescriptions to suppliers.
  • Manage internal SRM tools (Supplier management system)
  • Present the received offers from selected suppliers to internal clients, making recommendations based on quality, cost, and delivery time. Decide on the purchase in collaboration with the project managers.
  • Execute and supervise purchase orders to meet quality, delivery time, and price requirements.
  • Monitor and control delivery times and the status of products, giving special attention to products with critical deadlines.
  • Follow up on supplier quality defects and negotiate claim and penalties for delays and/or material defects.
  • Manage logistics for materials connected to purchase orders.
  • Final negotiation of the offers you have managed.
  • Actively participate in various initiatives and work teams of the ANDRITZ group.
We are looking for candidates with the following experience and knowledge
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering or Higher Technical Training Cycle.
  • Experience in the field of Procurement and/or Quality is positively valued.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes in mechanical and electromechanical equipment. Interpretation of mechanical drawings and Quality prescriptions.
  • Experience in the industrial sector of mechanical equipment manufacturing. Sectors such as hydraulic turbines, pumps, aeronautics, thermal, etc., are positively valued.
  • Willingness to control the progress and quality of the production processes of the requested components.
  • Availability to travel occasionally as needed.
  • Preferable knowledge of the SAP management system.
  • Commitment and perseverance in achieving goals. Conflict management skills.
  • Aptitude and willingness to work in a team.
  • Strong motivation for professional growth and continuous learning.
  • English language: Spoken + Written (minimum level B2).
