Business Development & EU Funding Traineeship (Erasmus+ Candidates Only)
Description
We seek a highly autonomous Business Development & EU Funding trainee who analyses markets, maps strategic partners and drafts competitive proposals under Horizon Europe, EIC Pathfinder/Accelerator and related programmes. The role focuses on aligning BIO-DRIVEN applications with funding requirements, shaping go-to-market strategies and ensuring that technical objectives match commercial and regulatory expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Educational Background
Enrolled in or recently graduated from a programme in Management Engineering, Economics, International Business, European Studies or a related field.
Business & Funding Skills
Analyse market data, craft business models and build financial projections.
Navigate the EU Participant Portal, read call documents and extract key criteria.
Structure Work Packages, Gantt charts and budgets that follow template rules.
Use Excel, PowerPoint and collaborative tools to manage data and presentations.
Language Requirement
Hold an excellent command of English for writing and negotiation; knowledge of Italian is a plus.
Learning and Development
Show strong interest in deep-tech markets, sustainability and European innovation policy.
Work independently, meet tight deadlines and document processes clearly.
Collaboration and Communication
Draft concise executive summaries, one-pagers and slide decks.
Coordinate input from engineers, researchers and external partners.
Present findings to multidisciplinary teams and incorporate feedback quickly.
Daily Tasks
Monitor EU funding portals and flag calls relevant to BIO-DRIVEN applications.
Map competitor landscapes and quantify addressable markets for each vertical.
Draft proposal sections (Excellence, Impact, Implementation) and compile annexes.
Build budgets, risk matrices and KPI dashboards that satisfy evaluator guidelines.
Support partner negotiations and draft Memoranda of Understanding or Letters of Intent.

This traineeship offers the opportunity to drive market strategy and shape EU grant proposals for innovations that tackle environmental and societal challenges. Partial remote work is available to accommodate academic needs.
