This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for performing Heat Run and BIL testing for Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) circuit breakers. You will ensure that testing activities are executed in compliance with engineering specifications, global standards, and ABB's quality and safety requirements.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services Division in Florence SC.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Perform Heat Run and BIL tests on MV and LV circuit breakers according to engineering specifications and global standards.
  • Prepare and set up busbars, circuit breakers, and associated equipment for testing.
  • Execute tests in accordance with quality and safety requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering requirements.
  • Support troubleshooting of test failures and work closely with engineers to provide feedback and recommendations.
  • Maintain testing equipment and ensure work areas comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to continuously improve testing methods and processes


Qualifications for the role
  • Associate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field).
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, ideally circuit breakers, and understanding of mechanical assemblies.
  • Hands-on ability to perform physical work such as arranging and installing busbars and breakers for testing.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to follow safety procedures and engineering specifications.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in electrical testing or manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
