Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new automotive applications using thermoplastic materials, leveraging DOMO’s expertise in polyamide technologies.
- Translate customer and market requirements into technical specifications and development projects, ensuring alignment with automotive standards and performance criteria.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive innovation from concept to industrialisation, including material selection, prototyping, and validation.
- Maintain strong technical relationships with automotive customers, design engineers, and development partners to ensure successful application integration.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for polyamide‑based solutions in mobility.
- Contribute to the automotive sector’s sustainability goals by enabling lightweighting, recyclability, and reduced environmental impact through innovative material solutions.
Qualifications
- A university degree in plastics, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in application development or technical roles within the engineering plastics industry, specifically focused on automotive applications.
- Solid understanding of thermoplastic materials (especially polyamides) and their behaviour in automotive environments (e.g., heat resistance, mechanical performance, surface finish).
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier suppliers, including familiarity with design cycles, validation protocols, and industry standards.
- Strong project‑management skills and the ability to work in a matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders.
