Application Consultant (Permanent)

The Application Consultant is responsible for delivering first‑class technical application support and training, performing demonstrations of Leica Biosystems instruments and reagents, and promoting and selling the LBS product portfolio. The position is permanent and based primarily in the Lombardy region with preferred location in Milan. It will be fully remote and will require up to 80% of the working time on the field.

You will be a part of the Italian Application Consultant team and report to the SEM Advanced Diagnostics & Application Support & Application Consultant Manager responsible for application support for AS and CH product groups in Lombardy Area with possible work‑related travels in other Italian regions.

In This Role
  • Support customers throughout the entire customer journey while growing core reagent and product sales through market intelligence.
  • The Application Consultant will provide application support and training of Leica Biosystems instruments to customers in their defined territory, ensuring Leica Biosystems products have maximum “uptime” through optimization of reagents and systems and therefore retain customers to generate reagent order intake.

The role will work in close conjunction with the local Leica Biosystems team to provide optimal customer support, write technical documentation for tender responses, sales growth and margin. The role will assist in increasing market share through effective promotion and selling efforts and by defending achieved market share against competition.

Major Responsibilities
  • Support the Account Manager during the promotion of Leica Biosystems products and take responsibility for conducting instrument demonstrations at customer laboratories.
  • Provide application support, with commercial awareness, to customers as required including in‑field troubleshooting of application problems and diagnosing rudimentary hardware and software failures.
  • Provide support to Customer Care and Tender Office in the drafting of technical papers and in the coding of products to be supplied for the tenders of the assigned area.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include
  • Good communication skills – able to make presentations in front of different audiences and stakeholders, holding a training class and Commercial awareness with an ability to support sales initiatives and customer interactions.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Science, or a related field.
  • Language: Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Experience: Scientific background and a good understanding of diagnostic equipment and reagents.
