About the Role

Techstars is seeking a mid-level IT Engineer to manage the day-to-day operations of our IT function, supporting approximately 150 employees and 50 contractors. This role is essential to keeping our team productive, secure, and equipped with the tools they need to succeed.

You’ll be the go-to person for all things IT—from onboarding new team members to troubleshooting technical issues to managing our suite of SaaS applications. We’re looking for someone who can work smart, not just hard: leveraging automation, integrations, and AI to solve problems efficiently and empower our staff through self-service solutions.

Compensation

$90,000 - $110,000/yr + 10% performance bonus

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day IT operations including technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Handle employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth transitions and proper access management
  • Oversee hardware inventory, deployment, and lifecycle management
  • Administer and optimize our SaaS tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Addigy, JumpCloud, Office 365, Airtable, Salesforce, and Jira
  • Build and implement automations and integrations to streamline IT processes and reduce manual work
  • Promote and develop self-service resources to empower staff to resolve common issues independently
  • Support information security efforts by monitoring and responding to security alerts
  • Conduct regular audits of user accounts, permissions, and access controls
  • Leverage generative AI tools to enhance efficiency and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on cross-functional projects and initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration roles
  • Broad technical knowledge across IT operations, including endpoint management, identity management, SaaS administration, and basic security practices
  • Hands-on experience with multiple platforms from our tech stack (or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated ability to create automations, integrations, or workflows that improve efficiency
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently
  • Experience with user access management and basic information security practices
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with AI tools and how to apply them to IT workflows
  • Scripting or light coding experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Background with MDM solutions like Addigy or similar platforms
  • Experience with SSO and directory services (JumpCloud, Okta, Azure AD, etc.)
