A regional health authority in Greater London is seeking a Health Improvement Worker to develop and implement health promotion activities aimed at improving the health of adults and young people. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and experience in health promotion. Strong project management, IT, facilitation, and evaluation skills are essential. The role involves collaboration with various partners and requires travel across a broad geographical area. This is a part-time position of 30 hours per week.
Salary Scale: £33,247 - £41,424 pro rata

The Directorate of Public Health’s Health Improvement team co-ordinates and leads work to support the health improvement agenda. We work in close partnership with the local authorities, third sector and community planning partners. The post holder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of evidence-based health promotion activities with the overall aim of improving health of adults and young people in Tayside and reducing health inequalities. We require a degree, or equivalent, in relevant discipline and experience of working in health promotion or a related area. The post holder will require an understanding of the health improvement policy agenda, have good project management skills and experience of partnership working. Training, facilitation and group work skills are required as are research and evaluation and IT skills. Some experience of working within Health Improvement initiatives would be of advantage as this role will involve working closely with this priority area as well as the potential to work collaboratively across other areas within the Directorate.
The post holder will be required to travel to cover duties throughout a wide geographical area.
30 hours per week (workable over 5 days per week, Monday to Friday).
