A food manufacturing business in York is seeking Food Production Operatives for a hands-on role in food production. Responsibilities include handling raw meat, operating machinery, and supporting packing duties. The ideal candidate will have a reliable work ethic and strong attention to detail. - Support general production and packing duties.
Skills
We are seeking Food Production Operatives to join a growing food manufacturing business in the York area. This is a hands-on role working with raw and cooked products across different stages of the production process, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract after a successful temporary period.
- Handle raw meat and load into slicing and seasoning machines
- Lay products onto racks ready for cooking
- Move cooked products into smoking and cooling areas
- Operate machinery to chop and portion products ready for packing
- Weigh and seal bags using packaging equipment
- Support general production and packing duties across the site
- Follow food safety and hygiene procedures at all times
- The ability to drive (essential, due to location)
- Willingness to handle raw meat
- Previous experience in a food production environment (preferred, but full training can be provided)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
- Teamworking skills and a reliable work ethic
This is a full-time temp-to-perm role working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern: 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm (rotating every two weeks). The pay rate is £13.21 per hour.
