A leading healthcare provider in the UK is looking for a Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist to manage antimicrobial services, collaborate with healthcare teams, and optimize the use of antimicrobials. The role requires strong analytical skills and experience in clinical pharmacy service management. Salary ranges from £58,972 to £68,525 per year, with a closing date for applications on 24 March 2024.
The role of Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist entails facilitating the cost-effective use of antimicrobials through regular reporting to Divisional/business unit/trust-wide management and consultant teams. Collaboration with Business Units is essential for developing services that meet service needs, often requiring innovation, technology, and novel approaches. Managing the clinical pharmacy service to the OPAT service, including strategy, workforce, policy, service development, and related activities, is a core responsibility. Providing a specialized clinical pharmacy service involves evaluating individual patient medications for interactions, duplication, etc., utilizing medicines information and research findings to manage therapeutic problems, reduce risks, and advise healthcare professionals. This may entail analyzing incomplete or conflicting data. Maintaining and developing policies and procedures covering all aspects of the pharmacy service regarding antimicrobials, including administrative, clinical, technical, and training information and Standard Operating Procedures, is crucial.
