Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic Pharmacy Team. We are committed to delivering high-quality support to our patients and are seeking a motivated, adaptable, and forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician. We support flexible working arrangements and will consider candidates available for a minimum of 30 hours per week. This role requires participation in late nights and weekend rotas.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will join our friendly team of assistants, technicians, and pharmacists, working flexibly to deliver comprehensive Pharmacy Services across various areas, including Dispensary, Aseptic Unit, and Medicines Optimisation on the wards.

Medicines Optimisation
  • Conduct medicine reconciliation.
  • Assess patients’ own drugs.
  • Counsel patients on their medications.
  • Facilitate discharges.
  • Manage ward and dispensary-based medication supplies.
Aseptic Services
  • Prepare chemotherapy treatments in our newly refurbished aseptic suite at the Beacon Production Unit.
  • Utilize specialist equipment to prepare individual patient treatments.
Dispensary
  • Dispense medications for inpatients and outpatients using the pharmacy robot, including controlled drugs.
  • Participate in the final accuracy checking rotation.
  • Support the dispensary manager in supervising the dispensary team.
