Job summary
A reputable manufacturing company in the East Midlands is seeking a Finance Assistant to support their finance department. In this full-time role, you will handle a variety of finance tasks including cash postings, payroll processing, and VAT returns. The position offers flexible working options and participation in a Profit Related Payment Bonus Scheme. This is a full-time role reporting to the Management Accountant, where you'll work closely with the Financial Controller and Management Accountant on day-to-day finance tasks. You'll also learn and provide backup support across other finance functions, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods or holidays.
- Daily cash postings and cash book journals
- Managing credit checks, credit limits, and maintaining accurate customer data
- Overdue debt chasing and issuing daily order book reports
- VAT returns, deferred income journals, and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Payroll processing, pension administration, and audit preparation
- Supporting purchasing, purchase ledger, and despatch functions when needed
