HR Administrator - Secondary School - Permanent

Location: Redbridge, London
Start Date: ASAP or January 2026
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: Competitive - Depending on Experience (School Support Staff Scale)

Role

As the HR Administrator, you will support the school's HR operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff recruitment processes: advertising roles, shortlisting, arranging interviews, and onboarding
  • Processing pre-employment checks: DBS, references, right-to-work, and safeguarding documentation
  • Maintaining accurate staff records and updating the school's HR and MIS systems
  • Supporting staff absences, leave requests, and attendance monitoring
  • Assisting with payroll preparation and liaising with external payroll providers
  • Supporting performance management processes, training records, and staff CPD bookings
  • Providing general HR and administrative support to SLT and the School Business Manager
Qualifications
  • Strong administrative experience; HR experience desirable but not essential
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with staff at all levels
  • Calm and professional approach in a busy environment
  • Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality
  • Confident using ICT systems, HR databases, and Microsoft Office
