We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Cancer Pharmacy Team. This pivotal role involves ensuring the timely availability of chemotherapy drugs for patient treatment. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires liaising between pharmacists, clinicians, and drug suppliers. As part of the Pharmacy team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support using our software packages, including EPR and ARIA, to ensure timely chemotherapy delivery. You will coordinate with clinicians and pharmacists to ensure prescriptions are updated and signed off promptly. The role may involve covering for team members during leave or sick days, potentially across different sites.

1. Use electronic software (e.g., ARIA, electronic patient records) to coordinate the screening and delivery of chemotherapy and support medications, ensuring prescriptions are processed timely and in line with treatment schedules.
2. Respond to patients’ queries professionally and promptly, maintaining composure when dealing with distressed patients and relatives.
3. Liaise proactively with doctors and pharmacists to ensure all chemotherapy is prescribed and screened within timelines and guidelines.
4. Coordinate daily with pharmacists, technician teams, and external providers to ensure efficient service delivery.
5. Work with pharmacy, DTU staff, and external providers to minimize wastage.
6. Attend meetings to stay informed about medication needs and follow-up actions.
7. Support pharmacy with database management and audits.
8. Understand and participate in the implementation of department policies and service development.
9. Comply with data protection legislation and confidentiality requirements.
10. Maintain strong working relationships across sites and with external providers.
11. Participate in cover arrangements for Pharmacy Chemo Coordinator and potentially work at another site.
