Job summary
A leading legal recruitment firm is seeking a Locum Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their team in a remote capacity, with occasional office attendance. The role is initially for 3-6 months, offering up to £60 per hour. Candidates must be qualified solicitors or legal executives with a strong contract background and public sector experience. This position allows for both full-time and part-time arrangements.
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with expertise in Commercial Contracts.
- Experience in Local Government or Public Sector is essential.
- Proven ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
Responsibilities
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing contracts and agreements.
- Advising on procurement strategy and risk mitigation.
- Supporting governance and compliance issues.

Location: Remote working, occasional office attendance is desirable
Hours: Full Time or Part Time
- Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a range of contracts and agreements
- Advising on procurement strategy, compliance and risk mitigation
- Supporting governance and statutory compliance
- Drafting and negotiating JCT/NEC contracts, collateral warranties and guarantees
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive with a strong background in Commercial Contracts
- Previous Local Government or Public Sector experience is essential
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with minimum supervision
