The role

We are seeking a Head of People Experience to lead and develop this function, reporting to the HR Director. The focus will be on evolving and streamlining processes to enhance efficiency. Experience in implementing and embedding an HR system is essential, as the company plans to replace its current HR system. The ideal candidate will have a tech-focused mindset to improve process efficiency and service delivery, ensuring seamless HR services and a strong employee experience.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR Operations strategy aligned with broader HR initiatives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR Operations team.
  • Oversee core HR services and employee lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and governance frameworks.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for HR issues and employee queries.
  • Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to improve payroll processes.
  • Evaluate and optimise benefits offerings.
  • Ensure GDPR-compliant employee data management.
  • Develop HR metrics and KPIs for performance assessment.
  • Enhance HR technology to automate and improve processes.
  • Implement best-practice HR policies and process improvements.
  • Advise senior leaders on HR operational matters.
  • Partner with internal teams and external providers to optimise HR systems and benefits.
  • Proven experience leading HR Operations.
  • Strong expertise in HR technology, HRIS, and automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of employment law and HR governance.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with HR metrics.
  • Ability to drive change and improve employee experience.

The role is based between Northampton and Oxford, with relocation support available.
