Job summary

A leading company in the automotive sector is seeking a Senior HR Officer to support HR strategy implementation and manage various HR functions. Senior HR Officer

Main purpose of the job:
Supports the implementation and management of the HR Strategy in the company through staff and payroll administration in accordance with current employment law, administrative support for employees, and recruitment processes. Works with a business partner mentality across operations and support functions, actively participating and coaching on a range of complex HR issues. Fosters a CI mentality to increase employee engagement, retention, and morale, aiming to become an employer of choice with diverse and inclusive policies and initiatives, supporting the local community.

Main missions and results:

  1. Main point of contact for HR Manager, ensuring key deliverables are reported.
  2. Manage assigned areas and projects with accurate and timely information.
  3. Coach and mentor direct reports and support team members for cross-functional training and best practice sharing.
  4. Drive culture change and identify CI opportunities across the business.
  5. Support operational needs to ensure accurate headcount according to RTO and budget requirements.
  6. Manage absence, supporting employees and facilitating reviews.
  7. Cover for HR Manager and support HR team activities.
  8. Lead key projects within HR aligned with departmental and business strategies.
  9. Investigate absence reduction initiatives, working with occupational health.
  10. Monitor headcount, turnover, and absence trends.
  11. Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  12. Review and update HR policies for efficiency and alignment.
  13. Upskill through external resources, keeping employment law updates current.
  14. Support HRIS data input and report deviations for corrective actions.
  15. Achieve operational KPIs.
  16. Ensure compliance with union agreements and employment law, supporting plant teams.
  17. Support annual performance reviews and site communication.
  18. Manage payroll processes, ensuring compliance with work hours, absences, and GDPR regulations.
  19. Prepare HR reports and employment documents.
  20. Coordinate recruitment with department managers.
  21. Support learning and development initiatives aligned with L&D strategy.
  22. Promote HSE improvements for a safe and sustainable working environment.
  23. Lead by example in upholding the company's code of conduct.
  24. Participate in operational meetings and CSR activities.
  25. Enhance HR communication across the business.
  26. Facilitate business surveys, review results, and support ideation.
  27. Support Kaizen activities where applicable.

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in automotive production HR or extensive HR experience.
  • CIPD Level 7 qualification (minimum).
  • Intermediate Excel skills for data comparison and reporting.
  • Experience in driving change and enforcing HR best practices in manufacturing.
  • Proven experience managing complex ER cases and mentoring leads.
  • Experience monitoring and improving absence metrics.
  • Knowledge of HR KPIs and improvement activities.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
