The Practice

Join EKRH's hospitalist team and bring your compassionate style of care to our dynamic healthcare environment. Collaborate with a close-knit team to deliver advanced medical care, including intricate conditions and specialized treatment. Your responsibilities span a broad spectrum of medical care, overseeing and addressing the healthcare needs of admitted patients, from acute ailments to chronic conditions. As the primary physician during patients' hospital stays, you'll orchestrate complex treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team comprising nurses, specialists, surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals.

Our vibrant hospitalist program is engaged with the UBC faculty of medicine and residency programs, creating exciting opportunities for mentoring and immersive clinical teaching. The best part? The Hospital

East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC presents an exceptional opportunity for healthcare professionals seeking a rewarding career, serving as an 80-bed regional referral centre for approximately 82,000 individuals in the East Kootenay Area. We have 24 hour emergency and trauma services with 16 dedicated beds, and a 6 bed ICU. The high-acuity-response-team (HART) team provides mobile critical care for rural patients requiring advanced medical support, to stabilize and transfer patients to higher-level care. This four floor facility includes a level 3 laboratory, complete with a recently purchased PCR machine and MALDI/TOF. In the new MRI suite, there are new MRI and SPECT CT machines, with a new CT scanner earmarked for purchase. Upcoming construction projects and facility upgrades include a new NICU, renovation of the emergency department triage, and new oncology and renal departments. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering top-notch healthcare to Cranbrook and the wider East Kootenay region. With a comprehensive range of services, including internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, pathology, psychiatry, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, urology, and family practice inpatient care, our hospital offers an expansive platform to showcase your expertise. Compensation

Compensation Type Alternative Payment Arrangement Estimated Remuneration For a full time hospitalist, anticipate an annual income of $336,162.00, plus MOCAP level 2, pro-rated for non-continuous availability (overnight).

Benefits and Incentives

Vacation Leave With flexible and considerate colleagues, you'll have ample time to recharge and unwind. May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 14% Retention Flat Fee $21,696 Relocation Funding Available $9,000 for moves within BC, $12,000 for moves within Canada, and $15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada. Recruitment Incentive $20,000, prorated for physicians working less than full time. Other Benefits/Incentives With RCME, you’ll be eligible to receive $1,320 for up to 2 years in Cranbrook, $3,520 during your 3rd and 4th year, and $5,720 after 4 years, in addition to the Doctors of BC CME funds. Rural incentives are subject to change and current rates are confirmed at the time of offer. An additional percentage on top of the Base Rate will be applied when the physician group is collectively eligible for the following incentives:

• Quality Incentive (up to an additional 10% of the total hours worked)
• Coverage Incentive (up to an additional 10% of the total hours worked)
• Volume Incentive (20% rate premium on base APSA rate for hours worked during periods of overcapacity)
